Organic Outliers

Yesterday on Bluesky, some rando appeared in someone’s replies to say these words: “If your trans daughter gets into fight with my organic daughter please believe I’m intervening just like it was a real boy attacking my daughter”.

Emphasis added, because this truly is one of the weirdest attempts to coin a phrase I’ve ever seen.

It made me think of something that occurred to me a few weeks ago, when I realized there’s a simple and easy way to tell that both the fascist unpersoning of trans people and the centrist liberal Democrat acceptance of the fascist framing on trans girls in sports isn’t about any kind of reasonable notion of fairness but simply about hate.

(Before someone starts: even “just” the idea of throwing trans people under the campaign bus is intrinsically and innately dehumanizing and so, definitionally, hate.)

If any of these people had a cisgender daughter who was, let’s say, atypically big and strong, they’d fight you tooth and nail if you claimed letting their daughter play girls’ sports was an unfair advantage. Human diversity being what it is, there are of course cisgender girls out there who are outliers in terms of size and strength or whatever other straw man transphobes claim to care about when bringing up trans girls in sports. Some of them probably are even bigger, or stronger, or faster than this or that trans girl in sports.

We wouldn’t ban those cisgender outliers, and we shouldn’t ban trans girls either. We simply accept that girls are diverse. Outliers in some physical attribute are outliers in some physical attribute, full stop. What’s more: every single one of those outliers is certified organic.
